People don’t always show you their true colors when things are going their way, but you start seeing them for who they really are when your interests conflict with theirs, when you ask them to do something for you and they don’t, even though they promised they would, or when you suddenly start speaking up about what’s bothering you and they start attacking you instead of understanding where you’re come from. The truth is, you will never truly know someone or how much you mean to them until you disagree on something or until their loyalty is put to the test.
Those who have conquered their healing journey would tell you that they have tried it all: moving to a new city, seeking therapy, reading self-help books, getting over their fears, leaving that toxic relationship, quitting their jobs, and the list goes on. They have followed every rule in the book and added their own spin on it but the most important rule is to keep fighting for yourself. That is the winning rule, everything else is just secondary.
It’s time to apologize to ourselves for all the times we allowed others to make us feel like we’re not good enough and all the times we stayed up questioning our own worth just because some people weren’t able to reciprocate our love or see us the way we wanted to be seen. It’s time to put an end to this pattern because we simply know better now. We know that we cannot depend on others to fix us or find the missing pieces in our puzzle. We cannot depend on others to complete us or save us. They can only help us on our journey. They can only make it a little bit easier so we can deal with our own challenges, but at the end of the day it’s our battle to fight, and if they don’t want to be on the same road with us, it’s time to safely drop them off.
It’s that time of the year! Eid Mubarak 🤍 كل سنه و انتم طيبين 🥳🥳 Back to morning coffee and staying away from bad vibes 🙏😊 #eidmubarak #eid
You owe it to yourself to go on with your story, even if you have to write it without some of the main characters. Even if you have to rewrite the whole thing, even if you have to replace the characters you loved the most, your story must go on and you must always be the hero. Like a show, your life story must go on regardless of the setbacks, the bumps in the road, and the people you lose along the way.
Distance is underrated. People push you to address everything on the spot or take action or confront people, but that’s not always the best way to handle some situations. In some cases, distance is the best response to someone who knows what hurts you but does it anyway or someone who made it very clear more than once that they don’t value you.
